Welcome to the 2021/22 school year and the new and improved Wilson Creek School District website!
We are so excited to be preparing for the start of the new school year. We have some changes coming soon and some that have been made. One of our biggest changes for some of you is the resignation of Mr. Scott Mortimer. While he has enjoyed his 40 years with the district, he is moving to a new challenge. Mr. Mortimer will be teaching Vo Ag with the Moses Lake School District. What a change from our little school, we wish him the very best.
Another change is that Mrs. Kane has accepted a position with Wahluke School District as a Secondary Assistant Principal. Congratulations to her! We are in the process of filling her position.
In looking forward, Ms. Amy Judge has been hired to be our new Vo Ag teacher. Amy completed her B.S. in pre veterinary medicine and her Masters in Teaching at WSU. After being involved in FFA during her school years, she had a great student teaching experience with Colfax School District. We are very excited to work with Ms. Judge as we move forward. Welcome Amy!
We have also hired a new para-professional to assist with our interventions program. Ms. Megan Peters is joining us from Hartline. Welcome Megan!
This new year is going to be FINALLY five days a week, all day, in person schooling! It has been a long time coming. While it may be difficult to adjust to full days, especially for our secondary students going back to an eight period day, we are all in this together. New curriculum has been purchased in both elementary and secondary levels. We are increasing our interventions to address the learning loss that occurred in all schools during the COVID shutdown and gradual reopening.
The bottom line? We are ready to address the needs of all students in the great Wilson Creek School District, we are on FIRE!
